I will be traveling to Santo Domingo early next year with an unlocked iPhone 5 from AT&T and I'm looking to use it with Claro Prepago for voice and data just like I did last year.
I have a SIM card cutter so the size of the card will not be a problem for me. I've kept my Claro Prepago SIM card from last year's trip active with small deposits.
Last year I purchased a 15-day "BlackBerry Prepago Social" and had full internet access on my iPhone 4S, which was throttled to 256Kbps at about 2GB of usage. Will this trick still work or has it been fixed?
If it has been fixed, will I be able to take my iPhone to the Claro store and have them change the IMEI or will they tell me that the iPhone cannot be used on prepaid services?
