Cibao to Port a Prince: Best Way?

We've never been into Haiti beyond a few miles from the Dajabon border, but will have to go soon.

Looking for advice on the best method and route to get to PaP for 4 to 6 of us.

Bus? Our car or van? Hired van/driver? Plane?

Best/easiest border crossing? Route?

Also: referral to a decent hotel in Petionville would be gratefully received.

Time for some more edumacation from the DR1 community, eyes and ears wide open.

I drove there through Jimani from Santiago. I stayed at a great hotel in Peteinoville called Hotel Ibo Lele. They had great food too.
