Local newspapers claim that this years Caribana Parade was a huge success. The booming sounds of Soca, Reggae, and Calipso could be heard throughout the parade.

However, no Merenge, Bachata, Cumbia, Salsa. The biggest representation of peoples in the Carribean speak Spanish, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, ect.

Sad to see that none of these countries were represented in Caribana. Caribana is only represented by Trindad, Jamaica, Barbados, ect.

Maybe they should change the name of the parade to TriJamBard. Sad very sad.

What's So Sad?

English-speaking people from the Caribbean migrated in great numbers to Toronto and eventually started the greatest Caribbean party on the planet.
They are famous for being an inclusive group, and if there was a group of Domincans/Cubans/Puerto Ricans they'd be given a place in the celebration if they wanted it.
THERE IS NO SUCH COMMUNITY!!!
A few hundred maybe of each Island and that's it!
There are many many more Peruvians, Ecuadorans, Nicaraguans, El Salvadorans, Guatematecans, Chileans, Mexicans than there are Caribbeanos.
Numbers rule and you're a whiner!

Re: What's So Sad?

I simply stated the fact that the Spanish speaking part of the Caribean is not represented in Caribana. I did not ask to be insulted. You are really an !@#$$% hole.
