Interested in practicing your Spanish? Willing to help others practice their English? A Language Exchange Club is being formed in Puerto Plata at The Meeting Place. We will meet weekly for a couple of hours and, over coffee or refrescos, for half the time we will speak in English, and the second half in Spanish. Your level of Spanish need not be high, but your willingness to help others with English and enthusiasm to try to speak Spanish should be. This is not a Spanish school (there is no charge) but rather a place to practice the language and learn about other cultures, and have some linguistic fun. If interested send an email (info@meetingplacepuertoplata.com) indicating your level of Spanish (i.e. from basic ?hola, como estas? to ?understanding everything the gua-gua drivers say?. The Club will start sometime during January and will meet in the afternoons (you could also indicate preferred days). And,of course, if you are a Spanish speaking DR1 reader and wish to practice English let us know if you are interested.
