Fabulous festival in Sosua this past weekend. A nice big party starting Friday night and ending Sunday night with a packed concert by Ruby Perez. Throughout the weekend the vibe was very cool. The restaurant stands all
seemed to be doing good business.
Mayor Illana was in the audience Sunday afternoon, singing and dancing with everyone during a theatre show for
the kiddies.
This is the 4th year they did this and every year it gets better!!

How about letting us who live in and enjoy Sosua have a thread without chica comments? There are many of us who have a life there that does not include paying for sex.

This is exactly why I hardly ever bother posting these days!! It was a great festival even though some of the planned events were rained off. It was full of families having a great time!

Why is it necessary to add comments such as these every time someone starts a thread about Sosua.? It got old for me a long time go.

it would be so easy for a moderator to delete them

Oh Yea Hartley. My comment was so outrageous, offensive and over the top, it should be deleted. Talk about Vegas and gambling is going to come up.

@Paulie - No offense, we all like a little toto, but it seems every single comment you make on this board is about buying a piece of ass on Pedro Clisante. Why not go to EYE SORE . com to compare notes on toto?

Tambo. You are right as usual. You have exposed me for the lowly monger that I am. Please accept my sincere and deepest apology and I extend that to any other non chaser whom I may have offended. I will seek treatment.

That is what it was. This was posted September 7:

Friday September 27 and Saturday and Sunday 28 and 29 September, a Multicultural Gourmet Festival will be held in Sos?a for the third year. The festival is organized by TURISOPP (organization for the development of tourism) and will take place in the park Las Flores behind the taxi stand next to the Sos?a Bay Casino in the resort town. Lovers of good food can then enjoy a varied menu consisting of the best dishes from 40 different countries. Several restaurants in Sos?a and immediate surroundings will provide these dishes. During the Gourmet festival, musicians and artists will make the party more attractive.

Where did the times go when talking about stuff like this was kept on the downlow? There are sites out there to talk about that stuff.
The guys are right, why throw in comments like that? It only causes reactions and diverts attention from these nice events that complement the town of Sosua.

I stopped by the festival and it seems a good time was had despite the rains we had.

There was live music and dance troops all weekend long. They didn't blast the speakers/audio!!!! There was activities for the
kiddies. There was food and drink. The whole weekend was very well attended by Dominicans and Gringos. It was a lovely event,
very professionally done.

HS10,
The organisation was good but it was too expensive and many restaurantors that participated last year did not participate this year. Some have even gone out of business! It was overall poorly attended simply because this is the wrong month of the year to hold it! It is the lowest of the low in terms of tourists or even snow birds from Canada. The weather doesnot help as we come into the rainy season for the north coast. A much better time would be February when all the snow birds are here , there is a peak in tourism and the weather in much better!
Whilst I looked around I did not sample the food -it was all too expensive for what was being offered.

To be constructive move this event to February, cut the costs to the restruanrtors and hence to the public and it might have a chance.

We thoroughly enjoyed it. Wasn't expecting perfection, whatever that is. It is what you make it. And we made it all 3 days.
