You can get good used tires lots of places. Try Japan Motors (I think) on the east side of the highway Navarette to Santiago, not far from the turn-off to Villa Gonzalez. These places will take your old tire(s) off, bring out a "new" one, test it, and install it for a fixed price. Used to be around US$15, now much, much more. But not $150.
Tip: Have a peso to measure the tread, and send back the first two they show you.
Tip 2: if you can't tell what's a good tire, spend the $150 apiece and take the same chances.
