That got your attention

An old friend of mine has a son that writes software for the Army. His main project is writing alternative scenarios for "war games" that are actually played out on computers.

He is willing, in his spare time, to write a scenario using elements of US Special forces and support in an "invasion" of the DR.

His only problem is lack of access to the capabilities and or equipment of the Dominican Military

Anyone able to provide any info. I will mail a disc to any of you in the DR if he gets enough information to create the scenario

Re: War Games

Hey there Tom - I obviously got in in time because I have seen it. 11.33 Dominican time!!!
Hope the fishing hook problem has been sufficiently repaired!! See you shortly we hope - Grahame.

Sorry T.O.G. I have no information on military capabilities of the DR but I am SURE one or two of the board specialists in this matter will be writing in soon. - Grahame.

Have him try "Jane's Information Group." Jane's publications are the world's leading authority on most countries military strengths, defense systems and military hardware. If he is, in fact, a student of military games, he probably already is aware of Jane's. He will need to subscribe, for a fee, to Jane's if he wants to access their data base.

webmaster blockin anonymous posts

I see the webmaster is blocking more and more proxy servers, this guy must be a real control freak, if you want to post on his board, YOU WILL provide him with what information he feels necessary.

I wouldn't say many if any of the anonymous posts I have read are outside the so called "guidelines," so the only reason is a control issue, but his board his rules

Now, back to my post after 4 try's

Jim

Thanks for your input, quite familar with JANES. JANES is quite good at providing equipment type, procurement etc, but it is lacking in real time deployment, readiness and training.

I know the DR has a few ground attack jets, but do they fly. They have x number of troops, but are they trained, where are they stationed and will they fight?

He did one regarding a forced occupation (Not peacekeeping or humanitarian) and the end result was command and control in 48 hours using Army Rangers and a MEU to occupy until Regular Army occupied with Brigade strength

If this is true, how come your message is posted??

Yes, some anon proxies are blocked. It's not much fun when the board gets flooded with 30-50 spam messages in one hit.

Yes, spammers also use anon proxy servers :-(
I just block the more commonly used ones.

In answer to your assumption, it's more of a spam issue, not a control issue. If that was the case, I would spend all my day adding IP's to the board software.
