Town Hall Meeting: U.S. citizens are cordially invited to meet the U.S. Ambassador to the Dominican Republic, James (Wally) Brewster in a Town Hall meeting on Wednesday, October 15 at 10:00 a.m. at the Lifestyle Holidays Vacation Club, Cofresi Beach, Puerto Plata. Representatives from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service, Social Security Administration, Foreign Commercial Service, and American Citizen Services will also be present to provide information about their services and answer general questions.

RSVP REQUIRED: Please confirm your attendance at the town hall meeting by sending an e-mail to PuertoPlataConsularAgency@state.gov with your name and passport number before 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 14. You may also call the Puerto Plata Consular Agency at (809) 586-8017, (809) 586-4204, or (809) 586-8023.

Attendees should arrive at the Lifestyle Holidays Vacation Club by 9:45 a.m. and present their U.S. passport in order to enter. Identification will be required for admission. The meeting will be held in the resort?s Main Administrative Tower on the third floor restaurant.

free food? 10am is not too late for brunch. Im thinking mimosas, ice sculpture, custom chef cooking to order, what do you call those delicious little french pancake things? Give me a reason to drive to PP. Chatting with wally by itself just does not get it. Do they really answer those phone numbers? When I needed visa help it was next to impossible to talk to a live person. Everyones voice mailboxes were full. Just like the government. If someone does go please ask for the skinny on the visitor visa scam they have been pulling for years. Maybe we will get the truth from these guys. That will be the day. Ok Ken. Can we expect a full report on the meeting.

I remember now. They are crepe suzettes. Not sure of the spelling. What about it Ken. Guarantee a turnout with my menu. I think Wally knows what the expats think of the US embassy and does not really want to hear it. If they give me the brunch I promise not to say an unkind word. I can kiss ass with the best of the best of them unless I get drunk on the free champagne.

It should be held in Sosua. Costambar does not have enough culture. Im thinking the House of Art would be appropriate. Maybe some ballet and classical music along with the brunch. Top it off with a free movie.

Maybe US Citizens that have at least remote possibility of attending should comment.
Maybe some should put forth some effort to make the trip. Hey you might change your luck!!

The location is the wrong one to hold this meeting. It should be in the Sosua/Cabarete area.

Whats the diff, its PP. Does not matter much as we are not going. Many of us have dealt with these bozos and one time is more than enough. I would rather go to the dentist. At least the dentist does not lie to me.

The fact that the US Ambassador is openly gay makes no difference to me.
The poor/ non existent service they provide DOES!!!!!

Not to worry about what happens at the meeting. Ken will be there with bells on as the roving reporter for Sosua news. We can count on him to provide a clear unbiased report of all the goings on which will take about one sentence.
