My kids seemed to have a holiday every week. Stuff like death in family of school superintendent. Most times they had no idea of whiy there was no school. For sure lots more than on the list. For a kid that does not like school the DR is the place to be. You hardly ever have to go. Anyone ever see a truant officer in the DR? To be fair Houston High School was not much better. They do not issue books to students. No textbooks. You have a book to use during class under the desk. Mostly hand outs and busy work sheets. Last two years of high school my kids were never required to read a book. Not much education going on in either place, imho. Thanks for posting the official list.
