If we take the caribe tour bus to Santo Domingo, how close does the bus get to the old colonial city? Is it with-in walking distance or will we need to take a cab? Thanks again for your help.
Take a cab as Pib suggested. Call a cab company and ask for a "Pollito" taxi cab(Yellow taxi vans)or a "Comfortable unit"(Unidad confortable)with A/C.They give you the number of the cab for your protection. Don't hail cabs from the streets or you will get swindled. Call Taxi Paraiso at 565-9595 and have them pick you up. Ask for fare before hand and that's what you pay. They are not allowed to overcharge. They take just a few minutes to arrive.
