NOT favorite luchtime reading

Nothing since yesterday (with the exception of 34 posts criticizing me for having the audacity to ask a question without first filling out a "club" application.)

For my impending trip,(to the DR someplace, I'm trying to find out where, maybe I should have asked that question?) 3 early thirties women from Del Ray Beach looking for a little "excitement," we only have 6 days, have traveled from Monaco to Chile, Alaska to Kharatoum, so adventure wise we are not naive, cost is not the prime consideration, TIME is.

I now know where to pick up a girl should I turn lesbian, where to receive a dissertation on art and clothing from a self professed "upper crust " Dominican, and where not to go if I want to be swabbed in robes and be treated as Muslim

What is with this place, when ****** first had me visit last week, there were talks of parties, places to go etc.

And no, I can't offer any information as I have never been to the DR. I'm just a 32 year old divorced woman looking for a vacation with 2 of my girlfriends (get the friends part smart guys)

CJ, you should have changed your name to the "sexy trio" to catch our attention. American women not only have stolen masculinity from men now you girls are disguising under masculine names.
This should be enough to stir up a hornet?s nest, so I will get to the informative point right away.
With the vast traveling experience combined among you girls, you shouldn?t have any trouble attracting sanky-pankies in any beach resort in DR or to an extent, anywhere in the Caribbean. Just keep smiling and act willing and able?.believe me?. They will come excited like dogs to a hydrant (ummmm, I meant, like bees to honey?. Yeah, that better?).

I have never met the guy but he is just a DOG!!!.

As for me Im a well trained puppy who likes to lick and play. Just kidding....

The best way to have fun in the DR is to have little sense of humour and dont let this forum get you down. Guys out number the girls here by couple of hundred thousand so the odds are in your favour that you will have a fun time.

Are you talking about DR? guys out number the girls??? Where did you stay in DR, in a military base or spent your youth in Nayajo prison?
This is the country for single men and if you are a professional male, you have your pick of the fresh young crop.

But girls, don't worry, there is plenty of action for you all as well.
maxxjaxx, you are no little puppy, you are an old dog who can't learn the newer tricks.

I am young 37 year old RETIRED guy who still thinks Colombian women are the best.

The fact is that anyone can use wealth and money to get chicks, the best women are the ones that will like you when that is not the main issue.

Well thank you for an expressive ?normal? reply, but I hardly think ?sanky panky?s? are what we want, desire or are interested in. From previous posts I am to assume these men are male gigolos? That is not our style.

I trust there are upscale clubs, golf courses, tennis clubs, restaurants and hotels where decent single men (And I mean men of their own social means) congregate on their holidays?

Listen fellows, we are anticipating meeting the same type of people as if we took our vacation at Maui, St. Lucia, Barcelona etc., if not, maybe some message posts that we could get real information from would be available?

Come to Santo Domingo

Come to Santo Domingo. There is more to see and do here than other parts of the island but this not maui or europe, it is the carribean. Hope you have fun.

This has been by favorite lunchtime reading (lurking) for many years BUT lately as I read each day preparing for my 9th visit I have noticed that DR1 has drifted from a GREAT place to listen and learn to a personal soap box or should I say soap opera. Its a pity as this was once GREAT lunchtime reading with interestng questions and informative answers. To save time with the remarks that are sure to follow I will admit that I am a poor speller, a poor writer, failed to post every 10 miniutes, have stayed in all-inclusive resourts, rented a car, not critized every post from another reader, and many more human failures. I will continue to lurk here during lunch time in the hope that DR1 returns to its former self.

I agree with Maxjaxx on this one. If you are looking for upscale crown, then santo Domingo is the place.

P.S maxjaxx, I am no where near being considered wealthy or newly rich. Like you said, all you need is a little humor and maybe a little charm (along with good luck and being in the right place).

Maybe I can help you out...

If your looking for city type fun, clubs, bars, restaurants etc, then Santo Domingo will be your best choice. Santo Domingo caters to just about anyone's taste. It has high class bars/clubs and low class holes in the wall. All can be lots of fun, just depends what your looking for?
Bottom line, Dominicans will embrace you and make sure you have a fun vacation.

If your looking to combine your trip with some beach time, maybe your better off spending your 6 days on the North Coast. In my opinion, not as lively as the capital, but still can be lots of fun.

Do you know where in the country you would like to go? I am a single woman and am quite familar with the DR. Another option for you is the east coast, Punta Cana, that is the popular place for vacation now. You will find the best beaches in Punta Cana and a good mix of people. All the rich and famous Americans are traveling there now. I am posting the name of a website for you to check out. Maybe Debbie's site can give you a better idea of the different locations available. Good Luck and Enjoy!

CJ, of course there are!

if you take your visit ot Juan Dolio or Puerto Plata you will meet people at the golf course or the casino. yes, there are a lot of youn, able and willing ment that will escort you all over.
In Santo Domingo, there are a number of places like Montecristo's or Tr?o and other places that can serve as a starting point for a night on the town. Perhaps our local master of the Night, TW, or the PIB might be able to point you in the right direction.

Hope this wroks, it should, this is pretty much a party country!!

Thank you for that kind and insightful reply. There is hope for this forum still.

We are thinking about staying at the Jaragua and will have a SUV at our disposal to visit Boca Chica for the beaches and other side trips (Worry not, I have driven in Milan and Bangkok do I am not easily scared)

As for asking TW for tips, I think not. He had already interjected his low-level comments and ideas of a woman?s place in his idea of the world, he and his reptilian fingers (I did see his photograph) can grace the arm of some other poor child, as he states he prefers.

Any ?must see? places in our abbreviated trip?
