The national Kanaval is this Sunday (Dimanche-Gras), Monday (Lundi-Gras) and Tuesday (Mardi-Gras) in Potoprens.

followed by Ash Wednesday and the start of Lent.

The day show starts at 1:00PM with the "on foot" groups and rara groups, but the real parade with the floats and the big bands start at night aroung 7:00PM and ends around 2:00AM.

By the third day you are exhausted.
