Gold Medal Hockey Game

What are the chances of being able to see the Gold Medal (Canada vs. the US) game at a resort?

Where are you????

If you are in Sosua, Try Eddy's Sport Bar. They usually have major sports events on their big screen TV's.

MMOAR

NBC will undoubtedly cover this match (unless the US doesn't make it, in which case they will simply switch to a documentary on some American who is the 20th seed is some demonstration sport but who beat the odds and recovered from a tragic breakup with his boyfriend 10 years earlier to compete in the olympics).

Channel 20 at my place, not sure where your hotel is stealing its feed from, but just look for NBC.

Typical of American news broadcasters. That's why I hate CNN.

Explosion in some country in Africa, thousands die.

Now back to the important news. Old lady in Indiana devastated when her cat fell off the roof and broke a leg. More details from our on-site correspondant...

It's all a matter of taste. Why would I want to see the gore of a disaster in West Africa, where everytime there is a brawl at least 50 die. Or perhaps you are interested in Bangladesh or India boat sinkings. They usually carry the size of deaths you prefer in the news(at least 500 per boat on average)

I rather see O.J. Simpson getting arrested for spitting a an old lady's dog because the dog barked at him. My favorite olympic news story ever was about that American skater that hed her husband break the opponent's leg so she couldn't skate for the gold medal. I also enjoyed the Canadian skaters that fought over the medals. Like you suggested. Lighten up.

If you want more serious news read the NY times on line.

LOL

Finally a post from you that made me laugh to tears, Tony.

I also fail to see ice skating as a sport unless you give them sticks, split them into teams, and see who can score the most goals. I won't comment on the others you listed (the women's hockey is getting pretty good actually, they just need to get rid of the full face masks and start knockin' each others' teeth out and it would be really good)

And although I would love to watch the olympics, it's never on down here! Yesterday my options were short track, short track, followed by short track and aerial or something like that.

Want me to watch women's Hockey?

Set up a match between Playboy Playmates vs. Hawaiian tropic girls in a NUDE HOCKEY match. Talk about "Getting the PUCK out of there!"

Those "Girls" would skate circles around you guys and beat on you as much as the olympic rules allow, and you would never touck the puck or a player

Face it, they are BETTER than you and it pisses you off women excel in a "mans" sport

Geez Janice

Once again you come out swingin'. It must be tough going through life like that.

Women's hockey is "getting pretty good". Please don't compare it to the men's pro hockey that we are also now fortunate enough to watch thanks to the addition of the NHL players to the rosters. I dated a female hockey player for a bit, she is the nicest lesbian that I know, and that I have ever dated.

I am sure that one day we will see women in the NHL. But don't hold your breath to see the elimination of gender segregated sporting events in the olympics, I don't want to see you turn blue.

The women's hockey team would HAVE to skate circles "around" me because I would be on my ass most of the time, and it would be easier for them to skate around me than to be constantly tripping over my sprawled out bag of bones!

Just tellin it like it is Marc

They won't ever compete with Pro (men) players, but they would kick ass of the couch potato commentators :)

Women players

I personally know Hayley Wickenheiser and Vicki Sonahara of the Canadian team, they are good but not up to male standards, maybe a good Junior "D" calibre.
I look forward to the game, but they should allow contact like the men do, no contact hockey suck's big time. Let the girls bash each other.
And Marc not all girl hockey players are Lesbian, obviously if she dated you she was something other than a nice lesbian as you described her.

A fitting end with Canada on top tonight, referee should be banished to Russia along with those threatening withdrawal. Let the Russians go home, shade of their series a few years ago with the NHL teams and their threat to quit against the Philadelphia Flyers because they were too rough.

The real olympics

I stopped watching the olympics years ago when the cold war ended. I used to like the hatred between the East and the West. I always looked forward to seeing the Soviets and the Americans at each other's throats.

Now, I believe there ought to be two separate olympics. One for real men, with sports like boxing, track and field, cycling, baseball, football, etc.. and one for women and mixed sex sports.

I hate to see thru ice skating and some of those faggy sports before I see a real sport. There is nothing I like more than seeing the Cuban boxing team fighting the US team.

I hate synchronized swimming. What a joke.

Olympics. A touchy subject for me.

However, a very large CONGRATULATIONS!!! to the Canadian Women's Hockey Team. a great victory, well deserved.
Ended a 35 game streak for the USA team-whose goalie I hear came from my old school!...

I think that the US has done extremely well, and is to be congratulated. Canada has done well, their pairs skaters were blatently robbed that first event. I can't figure out why they only got the Bronze in curling, however. (Beat the USA to get it, too, if memory serves.)

The sliding events have been interesting, bobsleds designed by NASCAR drivers have won medals, the luge events are for maniacs and the skeleton races are very cool...80 mph with your face three inches off the surface???

Last night's Ladies event was a major upset. All three of the top contenders faltered, quite obviously, and let the young 16 year old take the Gold....since she was from Long Island, New York, you can believe NBC will hammer that home....Today, Leno etcetc ad nauseum....
