Be careful, Amanera is separate from the seller , Dolphin.
It operates autonomously, running the hotel and the golf course unless the new deal shuffles the deck.

This was part of my starting the North Coast upgrade thread.

A very big development for those of us in the area*

the beginning of the end

Is this good news for us that wants to play this beautiful course again? Well, it can not be worse than with Amanera...

Your input is very much appreciated. I miss so much playing there...

The masters of the universe may have thought their idea of a Playa grand utopia was a good idea but anybody with half a brain that has lived in and around Cabrera since this lame-brain project started knew that building it in this backwoods location was a real dumb idea. Closing the golf course to the few people who stayed in the their thousand dollar a night rooms won't pay too many bills......it only took a few months to figure that one out. Two years from now Donald Trump will be able to buy Boynkins beach club ,the Aman, and the golf course for pennies on the dollar........my take, over and out

I hate to say , because I guessed wrong initially-

Amanera is the most successful Aman opening EVER.... after the first year.

Last year was the opening, bookings continue to be strong this season.

Big tickets, couple of thousand a night.

Bill Ackman, hot shot NYCers.... popular, to say the least*

As I said, strongest, best opening of any Aman in the world.

I agree the the opening was grand, but anytime hotel's close (they where close for 2 months) for any amount of time I start scratching my head.

Win a trivia contest....

Name the last Robert Trent Jones course built.

It was Playa Grande... not the last designed and built, just built.

Designed for the government in 1972-3, built finally in 1995.
I asked the Reese Jones team that one.... they flunked.

Trick question,actually finished last"....*
others were built a year or two after

Actually, the hotel appears to be part of the sale, which makes sense. Nice deal, they only need about 6M in cash, and the rest will come in the form of retired bonds, most of which are managed by the buyer anyway.

Physical property being sold.... not the hotel management contract*

The Four Seasons Hotel group own few, if any of their properties.
Heotel managers only*

Standard hotel procedures*

The hotel is a midget piece, 2400 acres for further development, separate from the hotel.

Big picture, not micro view*

I had heard conflicting reports about 'real' occupancy, they did giant press junkets for awhile so were always full but have spoke to several people who went and they said they were the only guests there. So need to ask, do you think that AMAN will stay or jump ship?.

I too, have been there at times with reported good occupancy.... and the dining room wasn't crowded.

Many guests rarely their rooms.... the average stay, chain wide, is +/- 3 days.
It seems to be used as a retreat....

As far as I know, Aman is happy there.

As for the original question about the golf course..... too early to tell.....

Thank you for getting back on the topic... :) I hope it will open again, and probably so do the caddies etc.

I run the beach every day and end up at the Aman. I have been doing this for the last year. Anyone saying this place is doing well is getting bad information and the golf course.....empty, no denying that

Post production repairs, tweaking the system..... improvements.

Just so I'm clear . . .

"Opened last year . . ."

ONE year after opening, "closed for two months".

For - ". . . repairs, tweaking the system . . . improvements."

So . . .

CLOSED for TWO MONTHS ? ? ? After only being open for a year. Repairs? Improvements?

Something isn't adding up, but I'll defer to posters with first hand knowledge.
