It's exactly what it is called "PALACE"......never stayed there but visited the resort during my stay in Punta Cana. The resort is great. The only Riu Resort I was not impressed with was RIU Naiboa, which is one of the older Riu resorts.

There are other Riu resorts next to each other, you may have access to book dinners with these restaurants through your all inclusive package. Confirm with your travel agent. The beach is great.

The best disco at the Riu resorts is at the Riu Bamboo resort, the second best disco in Punta Cana. Have a great vacation.

Returned a month ago from staying at RIU Melao. The Palace is a high rise building where Melao and Taino are two story bungalows. If you stay at the Palace you are the only people that wear arm bands. No one else is allowed to use the Palace faculities except the Casino. The kids staying at the Palace were going to other pools because there were mostly stuffy older people staying there. When walking through the area to get to the other resorts within the complex the people did not seem to be as friendly as in the other resorts. You do have access to all the other facilities within the RIU complex. Didn't feel like I was missing a thing by not staying there. It all depends on the type of vacation your looking for.

this is one of my favorite resort. i had been there many times. Palace is the nicest of the RIU. food and service are excellent. rooms are ok. nothing to impress. this resort is very quiet and charming. if you are looking for party, go to the Bambu next door which is the other 5 star property and it's called a Club.
there is not Disco at Bambu as somebody says. the Pacha disco is located in the caribbean street, far away from bambu.

I found nothing wrong with Naiboa. It has a large pool that has lots of activities going through out the day. No swim up bar. The steak house is located there and it is close to the disco and Carribean street. We didn't stay there, stayed at Melao, but did use their pool sometimes and also ate at the steakhouse, very good, and the buffet for lunch. I thought the Naiboa was just as nice as the other resorts within the complex excluding the Palace. I'm sure you will enjoy it.
