In todays Diario Libre news column appears an news item about two Germans by the names of Wolfgang(not Amaddeus) Joachim(not Balaguer)Kuhr and Xaber Hober who claim to have been taken to the cleaners for the paltry sum of $RD2.7 million pesos!!
It turns out that(AGAINNNNNNNNN?) another Deputy of the Dominican Chamber of Deputies(The Chamber of Thieves) by the name of Marcos Fermin Garcia(Reformist Party, Provincia Maria Trinidad Sanchez) from the Samana area took a deposit for apparently some vehicles and never delivered, yet the deputy apparently, according to the case is having a holiday with all this cash. This case has been brought before the Supreme Court, being that these political potentates have license to steal thru inmunity.
Deputy Garcia owns Marcos Fermin Auto, S.A. and has been legally intimated to return the money to no avail.
LET THIS BE A WARNING....to all foreigners. When you do business in DR, if the person you do business presents his connection with the government, or title of office for anything related to government, politician, member of the senate, Presidential Aide, or any political office of any kind bring in custom made pants without pockets, no wallets, no credit cards, or run like hell before you end up back naked in your home country.
