Dear Dr1 readers

How high do you have to go to get any cooler temperatures ?
Are there less mosquitos and bugs over a certain altitude,
how high ?

Do you know of any organised deveoplments with oceanview lots and utilities HIGHER up in the hills ? (on northcoast)
...or is water from wells readily available in the hills ?

Can anyone give me a hint as to where on the north coast the
BEST real estate BARGAINS can be found in this depressed market ?

I'm coming to Puerto Plata in a few weeks,

I'm from Europe and quite new to your area, any ideas or
assistance is welcome,
I may be interested in some nice person showing me and my wife around.

Thankyou

You'll have to go and see for yourself

But, there is a place on the way to Sosua, on the right hand side. The gate is now closed but i used to show pwpole the site and it is nice and cooler up there. I am sure that soem of the nice folks up there can help you. GEt in touch with them...

...will look for a closed gate on the right hand side going to Sosua

Eruonew - Our realtor showed us quite a few houses in February and we ended up buying one closer to the ocean. But I remember him showing us one neighborhood that was up pretty high, with alot of rolling hills and vegetation. The houses were nice and reasonable (under $100K). It was between Sosua and Cabarete.

His name is Dean Brown from Century21 down there. His email is islandcruisers@hotmail.com.

They also have a website where you can tell some of the houses are on hills, and the description will mention if it catches the breezes. The website is Real Estate Web Site
