I was wondering if someone could give me some light on an issue that I have with my name. I name as on my birth certificate is Marie Jean.. but ever since I was born my family pronounced my name as if it would be spell Mary Jane. When I was living in the Dominican Republic I did not actually care much since not everybody knew that my name was mispelled, but since I'm living now in the U.S. I started writing my name as it should be spell Mary Jane. How can I legally change my name without having to send my papers to D.R.?
