Tell that to the judge after the accident you had with an expired (90 days) foreign license. The first thing they do is photo copy your entry stamp when your filling out the police report. If you don't have that, your going to jail.
Imagine being in an accident thats not your thought, someone gets hurt and you have an expired license. I hope you have lots of cash, because your going to need it to get out of that one.

Medical bills for a motoconcho driver can add up real fast, especially when your a foreigner with an expired license.
The good news, if you have a British or any other European passport, often your embassy will issue you with a document (for a fee) that validates the legality of your license. This document you can use to get your Dominican license without all the hassles of a test etc.
Sorry, this does not apply to Americans as your embassy has stopped issuing validity documents. Sometimes it's handy being a Brit
