I need ideas for my portion of our group essay/presentation about the rd. My section is the culture. I need to describe the positive and negative effects of tourism on the culture.
I have figured out there is lots of infor on sex tourism here. I am looking for more big topics within tourism/culture.
HELp please,,, books or websites. or just big questions I could answer.

Also try contacting your local DR Consulate for more information.

A sociologist called Clara Baez did some research in 2001 on the impact of tourism on life in Boca Chica. I don't know whether she speaks English, or indeed whether you speak Spanish, but you could try writing to her c/o ICG at cepae@codetel.net.do
