A while ago, I was inquiring about the need of a passport for a Canadian citizen. We just came back Sunday from Puerto Plata and I just wanted to let people know that travelling without a passport to Dominican Republic IS NO PROBLEM AT ALL. There is no special lineup for people who don't have a passport and it doesn't take more time if you don't have one. The people in front of us just presented their papers and they were processed as fast as us, and we have passports. So don't worry, if you a are Canadian born you will not have any problems.
