Any place to fish in the Byahibe area?

My girlfriend and I will be staying at the Coral Canoa in bayahibe during the first week in march. Since I don't go anywhere without a fishing rod I was wondering what fishing opportunities were available. Species of fish, places to fish, any info would be greatly appreciated.

Visit nearby Bayahibe town and ask around for a small boat operator to take you fishing. Right in front of your hotel area you can catch a few tropical fish.

Yep, there's a whole ocean in front of your hotel or at least near by. I used to fish the Chavon river when I was a kid. If you can get some one with a small boat to take you up the river that would be a good fishing experience. And the scenery is outstanding.
