Our Condo Association has formed a 5-member board of directors to act on its behalf until the next annual assembly. A question has been asked whether calling it a board of directors carries any greater legal risk for the members than calling it something more innocuous, like special committee. The make up of the committee, its duties and responsibilities, etc., are pretty well spelled out in the rules. The question has to do with whether or not one name might carry more risk under the law than another.
