Surfing lessons

Is there any place close to Santo Domingo like Boca Chica/Juan Dolio to get surfing lessons? Not those lessons at the hotels given to the tourists! I am talking about local stuff or surfing school maybe.

There is Playa Caribe -before juan Dolio 10kms after boca Chica-I see people boogie boarding and sometimes surfing though.

boca chica?

Boca Chica is basically a natural swimming pool its the only beach ill take my son too and not have to worry about him drowning.

I guess playa caribe but, you wont get much distance, I would suggest puerto plata. I know they have wind surfing and that other type ummm kite surfing or something like that.
