Yesterday's Tampa Tribune newspaper reported that Tampa International Airport has asked Jet Blue to consider and or begin service to the Caribbean direct from Tampa.

They didn't say if it was to the Dominican Republic, but I sure hope so.

Right now Tampa and Orlando people often pay more to fly to the DR on AA than those coming from Philly, New York and even Canada.

Im keeping my fingers crossed that Jet Blue will accept TIA's request and hope it is to the DR.

Not way JeBlue will fly from TPA to SDQ, not in this decade.

Air Lines with operational centers (HUBS) keep all their flights tied to the hubs.

In other words airlines like JetBlue, AA, United, Delta etc. does not operate from a single city to another city, they operate from hubs to cities for many economical and operational reasons, E.g.. Spread cost of the hub, flight bank for connectability, strongest offer etc.
So I doubt that JetBlue will go out of their hub to operate from a single city to another.
