i recently visited a new project that has been under construction at playita beach las galeras. a spanish company is building 60 hotel rooms atop the hill to the west of playita beside an italian guy's recently built villa. talking to the spanish owner, he expects it to be open for this christmas. it's a serious project with 4 or 5, 3-storey buildings. all the buildings had a roof and walls when i visited; and with the quantiy of workers on hand, i can imagine that it will be done by xmas. the view is incredible. hopefully this will be the start of some sustained, controlled development.
