Has anyone here gotten a quick divorce in DR and then gotten it validated at the US Embassy?

Is this standard practice in the process? Can the representing lawyer complete this transaction?

Any advice would help thanks!

I Was Married In Thailand, and Divorced In The DR!

Both the marriage and the divorce are "recognized" in the USA.Imagine if marriages were not recognized as legal in all countries. You could get married in 50 different countries and just move on when you got tired of your last "wife"! What a DREAM! ;)
I never heard of getting anything "Validated',except my parking lot tickets!

If your spouse is not "Happy" (meaning she was not part of the "Quicky Divorce" process)with your "Dominican Divorce" she can contest it!
I came her for my Dom.Divorce about 20 years ago! Fell in love with the Dom.Ladies, never got it out of my system.Be CAREFUL! That was 1 wife, and 3 kids ago!! ;)

This is standard procedure. The papers will not be mailed to you until they are validated by the US mission. Since the papers are mailed to you, the answer is yes, the paperwork is completed by the representing lawyer.
