Living in Santo Domingo

Hi I am considering a job offer in Santo Domingo and we are wondering what life is like in DR. Restaurants, night life, leisure, making friends... We are a married couple, Swedish, and both speak good Spanish. Are there a lot of foreigners working in DR?

My wife is an engineer and an experienced project manager from large construction projects within the power utility industry. Can she get a decent job?

Santo Domingo is a foreigner-friendly city, as is the rest of the DR. Your wife might find a job with one of the new private electricity firms that have taken over power distribution and generation in the DR since August.
