Nicaragua anyone?

In my continuing quest for retirement options, I am going to Nicaragua on Monday for about a week (from Florida). Plan to head directly to Granada and then San Juan del Sur. If any DR-1 folk have first hand tips about this part of Nicaragua, I would love to hear them. I have read the guidebooks and have basic info.

I used to travel there a lot, but haven't been since 2000, so my information is not that up to date. Granada is a colonial style town, on the lake, from where you can take boat rides to the islands, but the guidebook already told you that!

PM ricktoronto, he's mentioned that he visits often.
