Hi!

Well, I'm sure you guys see me post here and there every once in while but not that often as I don't like to post just to become a DR1 superstar. Anyhow, I just wanted to know if some of you can give me a little info on Michel Camilo. Now, I want to know as to how known or famous he is. Is he a very important music figure? I hear a lot about him but I'm not exactly sure where he stands. If some of you can enlighten me that would be greatly appreciated.

Best pianist in the DR. His thing is jazz, he's been doing records since the 80s, he's performed all over the world, sold records out the wazoo, and won a Grammy in 2004 for Best Live Jazz Performance for "Live at the Blue Note" so he's a pretty accomplished musician. And my cousin has done a few songs with him, some production work and playing some instruments for some of his songs :p.......my, how small this world is. You know someone that knows someone famous or semi-famous ;)
