Hello, everyone! This is my first time posting on DR1. I am an american girl who got a job at a private school in the Arroyo Hondo area of Santo Domingo. I am looking for a furnished room for rent - possibly in someone's house, or to share an apartment. Does anyone know how I could go about searching for this? I would appreciate any advice. Thanks!

Welcome to DR1!

This is a good place to start searching for a place. It may help if we knew what your budget is.

There were some other thread where people were looking for a roommate. Try using the search feature.

My budget for housing will only allow me about 200-350 US dollars a month, as I will be working in a private school making pesos. Thanks for the tip - I will check it out.

If you want to live in the Gazcue area (a bit far from your workplace, I admit, but closer to everything else) I have heard about studio apts going for 250 dollars in one of the old original apt buildings on La Pasteur.
