I just booked flights from Newark to Santiago on Continental in Jan. for $296. You can get the same price on Delta from JFK. The $296 does include taxes.

Different market and route....LOL

Airlines dont go anymore by distance, they all operate by Market's.

to fly to DR, you paid more taxes that the actual basic fare.
