Hey Riced! I gave up using a tripod years ago..... Instead, I use a length of cord with a loop at each end. The bottom loop is slipped over one foot, the other loop is held in the hand with the camera. When I'm ready to take a shot, I pull upwards on the string. This keeps the camera perfectly still and there is no "camera shake". In the woods, tie one end to a convenient branch or whatever and pull sideways. Again, no shaking. Try it, you will be pleasantly surprised. Also, the string costs nothing, while a bulky tripod can be very expensive! Canadian Bob.
