land baron on the loose in las galeras

anybody else hear about someone - i guess a foreigner - buying vast parcels of land from the locals at low prices, but paying the intermediary lawyers (who own part of the land as they did the title work for the landowner) good prices? Seems lawyers are getting $50.

seems the person or company representative is trying to do this quietly but word is spreading amongst the locals. sounds like something big is going down. i just hope that the village doesn't lose its charm.

I heard after original posting that the buyer or representative of buyer has family name "lamano" or something like that. the guy is buying up land behind playa colorado for Rd$100k per tarea (!) but paying the lawyers $50 sq mtr. all the titles are clean and he's apparently bought a vast tract of land once all the little pieces are lumped together.
