With Claro Dominicana coming into the Dominican Republic I heard that they were going to offer GSM service to compete with Orange. Is this true? If so does anyone know when the service is going to start?

Claro is owned by Codetel (The old Verizon Network) which is CDMA right now, where are you getting this info from?

Perhaps Codetel is just looking to get more market share in order to rob us more.
For example:
When I had VIP and Dial-up, Caller-ID was included free.
When I switched to VIP and Flash, Caller-ID costs me 70 pesos extra per month.
(Plus 28 % tax!)
