august weather

how is the weather in august? humidity, rain, temperature?

Where? Southcoast, mountain, desert, east coast or north coast?
The differences are big!
Genrally it's HOT and HUMID, with afternoon rains that'll
take the breath out of you, and turn many streets into
small rivers, unsuitable for driving.
Also consider that August is traditionally the start of
the hurricane "high-risk" period. (Official hurricane season
is June-November, but most strikes have occured August-
October)

Last year, the last 2 weeks of August were bright and sunny. I don't remember any rain, so, if it did it was minimal. There was a hurricane 100 miles north of PP. didn't affect us at all except that the waves were a little higher than usual. Lots of sun.

august in santo domingo?

I've been to the DR many times. 90% of the time its beautiful. In August it gets a little "soupy". Don't exert yourself too much and you'll be fine. Occasional evening downpours add interest. Ckeck it out. I may be there again myself.
