power in colonial zone

what is up with the luz in colonial zone lately...3 days,3 blackouts up to 15 hours,even today with decent weather,off for 5 hours tonight...tough on hotels and restaurants,as well as shops on el conde...this is the heart of this city,and the area with great restaurants,...tourists are amazed,and know why this is a 3rd world country..cant wait for metro to loose power with a full house of dominicans underground for 5 hours......office on Independencia blames it all on rain...but pay your bill....

The power is always going off in El Conde. They have been upgrading cables in the colonial zone for months.

Oh really? I wasn't aware of that...
I haven't been there for quite some time...but last I was there, it seemed there was never any power problems...
I was under the impression that that is one area that doesn't loose power...(and if so, much less often than anywhere else)

I was there in September and found it off quite bit....good thing most restaurants cook with gas.............oh and yes, I had a blast!
