Finally I got a ticket to Dominican Republic first time for two weeks and will be leaving in 3 days. I will be landing in Punta Cana, planning on going to Santo Domingo, Jarabacoa and Sousa. My itinerary will be as of below:
I am still quite confused about the bus info to travel around due to many different companies and many different options to go from places to places. Please help on the bus info and feel free to suggest a better itinerary.
- landing in PC at 11:25am, will then head from the airport to the bus terminal for a bus to Santo Domingo
- stay in Santo Domingo for 5 days (look around the city, some casinos and discos for 2 days, 3rd day going to Jarabacoa to visit the water fall and do some white water rafting, horse back riding and return to Santo Domingo the same day, 2 more days in SD)
- go to Sousa for 7 days and spend Christmas there (will be taking day trips to Puerto Plata and Cabarete, spend some time on the beaches in Sousa)
- return to Punta Cana for 2 days for more beaches and relax, flying out.
Questions:
1. How do I get to the bus terminal in PC from the airport, what is the terminal called and address?
2. is it a direct bus from PC to SD? I assume Expreso Bavaro is the best bus company, they are leaving for SD at 7am, 10am, 2pm, 4pm?
3. Is it too rush to go to Jarabacoa and return to SD the same day?
4. What to do in Puerto Plata and Cabarete?
5. in PC, I will be staying at hotel Cabana next to La Punta, $30US a night, what is the address and contact info for hotel cabana?
