We area condo owners who are not able to live full-time in R.D. We want to rent our condo to others when we are not using it. We have been told that we are not allowed to rent our apartment for short periods of time such as weekends or weekly because of some condo rule.

If there is such a rule, where must it be published or registered?

We have owned this property for ten years and never heard of this rule before. Condo apartment buildings neighboring our property on both sites advertize rental on daily and weekly basis.

I would certainly not want my neighbors renting out their apartment like it was a hotel. Those "renters", aka hotel guests, would have NO vested interest in keeping the building safe, clean, or respectable.

Everyone residing in the building should have the same vested interests.

However, what is legal is what your contract states. You will not be popular with ur neighbors, tho.

Thank You Both!

I feel the same way but appreciate an attorney's advice even more.

BTW, we don't allow just anybody to rent form us and short term renters would be few and far between.
