Hi all, in May my fiance and I are emigrating to the Dominican Republic. We are both in our 40's and bought a house in Sosua last year. Before we leave we need to fill out Form P85 (Leaving the UK). It's from HM REVENUE & CUSTOMS.
Several questions are concerning us.
We do NOT own a house in the U.K.
1) Which Country are you going to?
1A) Give your address abroad if you know it.
Should we state our address?
2) Are you leaving the UK to work?
2A) If "NO" give your reason for leaving the UK.
Obviously, we want to work and will be working in the Dominican Republic when we have settled.
I was considered just answering 2A "Emigrating".
Will this answer surfice?
I guess we're a bit paranoid of the UK Government trying to take our money when we move to the Dominican Republic. We will not have ANY income from the UK when we move to Sosua.
Any advice would be appreciated.
