Over the years I have read on this board message after message from American, Canadians, and other ex-patriots who now reside in the Dominican Republic.

You are living my dream. What resources are available for people who want to live overseas. I all ready have the book "Living in Santo Domingo". I would like to know what caused some of you to take the plunge and live in the DR.

I will be finishing my University education with a Batchelor of Science degree in Special Education with a double major in Spanish, in December of 2001. Then I would like to get out of Miami. DR would be my natural choice.

Thanks Again,
Tamara

Hi Tamara. I've been dreaming of living in the caribbean for years, and am finally in a position to be able to DO IT. I wanted to mention a helpful website: escapeartist.com

Good luck!

Basically, I found three hours laying with a broken foot
on a swedish winter-road in -25 deg. centigrade useful
in making the descicion to move.

Lived in Miami a couple of
years ago, and I know there are precious few swedish winter-roads
around. Sure you'll find a suitable alternative. A nice stroll
around Hialeah friday evening might give some ideas. There's also
a nice, cosy little dungeon just below 79/21 NW. Just don't
forget to bring a few marines, ammo for ww3 and a couple of
thousand de-tox specialists.

There are daily flights from Miami international.

Heartliest welcome, you won't regret it!
