Puerto Plata to Punta Rucia???

Hey All,

I will be flying into Puerto Plata next week, but need to make my way down to Punta Rucia. I will be in Punta Rucia for 3 days.

What is the best way to get to Punta Rucia from POP-Puerto Plata. I can stay in Puerto Plata one night and head out to Punta Rucia the following morning.

My thoughts were to rent a vehicle (truck/suv) and drive to Punta Rucia, but I do not know the current road conditions. It has been several years since I have been to the DR and never to this part of the island.

Any suggestions? Car Rental? Bus? Any other way?

Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

POP to P Russia....
Guagua from POP to Santiago. Gua gua to Villa Elisa(sp)...VE to Punta Russia, motoconcho or taxi at he crossroad. Total cost about 400 rd...

Went there a couple of months ago and the roads were very bad - barely passable in a 4x4 in places.
