How long of a drive is it from Santo Domingo to Puerto Plata?
Also, what are some of the cheaper prices for hotels in both Santo Domingo and Puerto Plata?
I will be going to the DR in May for exactly 7 days. Since I don't plan to stay in just one spot I decided to rent a car. I want to visit Bonao and San Pedro de Marcoris on my way to Puerto Plata from Santo Domingo.
Any advice would be appreciated.

Hey, where can I get a detailed road map of the DR? I have attempted to find one on both Yahoo and Google images, but they've all been lame. Do you know of where I can download one?
