Sun village, peurto plata

A friend and client of mine bought through Sun Village at Maxim Bungalos, he invested about 50k usd and they stole every penny from him.
They gave him a big b.s. song and dance and he left without his money.
After trying a few lawyers, who of course, took his money and did nothing he tried to retain an expensive lawyer, they told him they could not help him.
Buyer beware aqui, its really a shame but what else can we do but inform each other here.

Take a look at the thread in Real Estate that discusses the Elliotts and Maxim and Sun Village and the whole mess.

Do not give the Elliotts any money.

Yes there is new management with a mandate to cut costs. Service is lower, food not as good, sections of the hotel are closed off and unused at the moment.

There is a new group who are selling time shares there. As I understand it they are much more aggressive and have a totally different program. Check into it carefully!

It really is a shame - the property is beautiful with tons of potential!
