Canadian Embassy in Haiti

I have posted a few weeks ago a message concerning the Canadian Embassy in Haiti. A lot of you responded and I thank you for your help. Unfortunetaly, the numbers you gave me were incorrect. I called Immigration office here in Montreal and they gave it to me (I will post it on Monday because I don't it with me at this present time).

I called this morning at 7 a.m. (this is at the time the office opens). I was transferred twice and finally spoke to a nice lady and she informed me that they got my husband's papers but they still haven't distributed the file to an agent yet. She told me that my husband would probably get a letter from them within a month or so.

Here is what I noticed: They aren't Canadian citizens that work at the Embassy which I find not logic at all. Also, I'm fortunate to have French as a mother tongue because if you can't speak french you're gonna find it very frustrating.

Anyways, I thought the many Canadians going through the Immigration process should know this.

Good luck to all,
Katia

A few years ago I called the Canadian Consulate in Santo Domingo and I also noticed that the employees spoke Spanish, very poor English and no French at all. I asked to talk with a Canadian person and the answer was that there were no Canadian... I was astounded.

Canadian Embassy in SDMGO

It has since improved a great deal and you will be able to speak to someone in English, French or Spanish no problem now!
