The former president of Iran Mohamad Khatami (a reformist) has a Facebook profile with more than 13,000 friends (it's genuine). Iranians are able to bypass the filters that block access to sites and have Facebook profiles. He's preparing for the June election against the current conservative President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and he's using web tools for social networking just as Obama did in his campaign.
