Anyone know how much it would cost to buy a bottle of Bacardi 151 or Brugal 151 in a supermarket in puerto plata?

Or if its sold in litre bottles?

The prices vary between 330.00 to 450.00 for .7L bottle depending on what company.
Bermudez the cheapest and Bacardi 151 gold the most expensive.
Brugal also have 1L bottles.

Interesting that there is a total of 302% tax on rhum. So 850.00 pesos worth of product costs 3419.00 after taxes. I hope Leonel will give Brugal free promotion in the metro they paid for.

As an aside, if you take 151 rum on airline flights it is considered illegal due to high alcohol content (in the US). Can't say about other countries. You are also not 'supposed' to even put it in your checked baggage leaving the DR. Best to check with your particular airline before purchase of the product.
