Are the top shelf nite clubs in Santo Domingo located in the Colonial Zone or other areas of the city. Please let me know. I am looking to meet the local players not tourists.
A lot of the top night clubs are along the Malecon. There are a couple of great bars in the Zona Colonial, including one of the best, Ocho Puertas. Another great club is in Parque Mirador del Sur and is set in a huge cave -- La Guacara Taina -- while more upscale clubs for fairly wealthy local kids are in the Plaza Central area and more downscale local clubs are spread out along ave Venezuela east of the Ozama.
