Juan Dolio beaches?

I've read that the beaches around Juan Dolio are not very good - i.e., the sand, swimming, and snorkleing are not as good as other areas. Any input?

The beach at Juan Dolio is protected by a barrier reef. There is lots of sand, but you can wade out in knee deep water to the reef. This is fine for toddlers. Not too good for swimming or snorkelling! Crossing the reef is difficult and dangerous as you can get painfull coral cuts.
