Well then.......

Things must be kind of dull in that area of the wood when you have to respond to your own thread. Or there is so much fun going on, everyone is busy, and don't want to share their good times.

for prostitutes go to blackbeards, close to the ocean front.
for food we have sole mio (italian), the anchor (english owners) and r&b bakery (german bread and simple food, nice). there are other places on the main road but i have never tried food there.
there is golf course and tennis courts if you like sports.
plenty of trips available in POP area, anything specific?

We visited the beach for a night and saw everything on offer. We were kindly taken around by our hosts who have lived there a while. If you like the beach then you will be happy, there is a hookers bar that is popular although I hear the girls are less than bottom feeders on the hooker scene, and there are a couple of food shacks. It is strange, I got the feeling of a small mountain community, not alot going on and nothing of real interest, but people who are living there seem to be getting on with something. Not a vacation spot in my opinion, as said, unless you can lie on the beach 14 hours a day.
It is a half done experience.

You there are plenty of places off the main road if you care to look.

You definitely didn't see everything on offer. Your hosts either haven't been in Costambar for very long, or have chosen their venues based on personal preference & shown you only what they like. There are over 20 places where you can have a drink in Costamber .... that's a VERY busy evening!

Our town is, I believe, unique on the north coast in that it offers a cosmopolitan community where people from all nations & walks of life interact & exchange ideas & opinions. We are all much richer for sharing our lives with each other. If you ae open-minded & not xenophobic this is the place for you.

If you want a "massage with a happy ending" make sure you have all your shots before you come here ;-)

I am sorry if it sounded like I was putting the place down, this was not my intention, I actually enjoyed the place but didn?t find it very appealing for a long term basis.
It is quite cute in its own way, and we did only spend a short time there.

A little something for everyone.

you lost your audience after the mention of happy endings

Just to mention not everyone is into all the samethings. That's ok, it's what seperates us all from being identical. I just wanted to get the skinny on what is now new and different from last year when I was there last. Costambar is a little quieter pace then some areas, but that is what makes it so special, because if you want crazy then you go visit those places, and come back home. Who wants to live in the middle of a freeway, not me. That's why I always go back. I just wanted to know what to expect when I return. Just a few questions though. Does anyone know where you can rent a bicycle or a motocycle that doesn't break down in the middle of a deserted road 10k from civilization. Is that possible. And some quiet lagoons and beaches say 10-20 miles from Costambar. I am looking to do a little exploring, not just hang out at the old Roberto's bar and just walk the beach that gets old after a few days. I know I am asking a lot of questions here so feel free to respond to any of them. How about mexican food any of that around. I don't get to read all of the forums here on Dr1 so please bare with me. I am just looking to have a good time all around. Thank you for all of your responses .

Don't forget to check out Cofresi, next to Costambar. There is actually a back road that connect the two (if you want to avoid the main highway), but you need a good SUV to manage the road and the creek.

Cofresi has:
Los Desperados - Mexican restaurant
Los Charros - Mexican restaurant
Ahora Beach House - Steaks/wings, etc.
Chris + Mady's - Canadian/Dominican/American cuisine
Poseidon - at Ocean World Casino
Lighthouse Lounge - Disco at Ocean World Casino
